Face of the city in midst of major upgrade

COW_San Diego_development_Aug 12 2016The downtown San Diego waterfront is undergoing major changes which will transform the face of the city. These highlighted projects do not include the recent upgrades to Ruocco Park and the esplanade, or other recent developments adjacent to the waterfront. These waterfront projects are the most visible aspects of a genuine transformation which is underway in downtown.

Waterfront Park

  • ±12 acre project completed Q2 2014
  • Replaced surface parking with park and water feature

Lane Field hotel development

  • ±5.5 acre project
  • North – completed Q2 2016
    – 17-story dual brand Marriot
    – Hotels
  • South – started Q2 2016
    – 32-story Intercontinental Hotel
    – 2 acre park

Manchester Pacific Gateway

  • ±15 acre project – proposed
  • Waterfront Park
  • 351,000 s.f. naval headquarters
  • 1,390 hotel rooms
  • 288,000 s.f. of retail space
  • ± 1 m.s.f. of office space

Seaport Village/Central Embarcadero

  • ±70 acre project – proposed
  • Concept under consideration: 480’ observation tower, extensive park space and walkways, multiple hotel concepts, retail and dining areas, an aquarium and a beach

Bayside Performance Center

  • ±3.6 acre project – proposed
  • A new concert venue for the San Diego Symphony and other events
