Looking to update and transform Aventine, a Class A, 220,000-square-foot office building located on an 11-acre campus at 8910 University Center Lane in San Diego, Calif, Boston-based Rockpoint Group has started on a $6.6 million renovation of premier office project.
Designed by Gensler, the renovation at Aventine will include a new modern light and bright building lobby complete with an expresso bar and indoor/outdoor lounge seating areas; new exterior entry enhancement and drought tolerant landscaping; new fitness center with shower and locker facilities; updated corridors and restrooms; and upgrades to the parking garage including new lighting, paint, signage and improved ingress/egress. San Diego-based Cypress Office Properties is assisting in the execution of the renovation.
Leading the leasing efforts for Aventine are Tony Russell and Bess Wakeman of JLL. Aventine is able to accommodate a variety of requirements ranging from approximately 1,500 to 30,000 square feet of contiguous space. The top three floors of the building offer 360 degree panoramic views.

Known for its landmark design, Aventine is positioned prominently along the well-travelled Interstate 5 and La Jolla Village Drive in the heart of San Diego’s Golden Triangle. Originally designed by renowned architect Michael Graves, the campus includes the 419-room Hyatt Regency La Jolla as well as numerous on-site dining amenities including Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Truluck’s, Café Japengo, The Melting Pot and Michael’s Lounge.
